University of Tennessee at Chattanooga running back J.J. Jackson answers three quick questions about bouncing back from close losses and Thursday's home opener:

1. After losing 27-24 at Jacksonville State last week, how important is it for UTC to play close to perfect against Glenville State on Thursday and build some confidence before Southern Conference play begins?

Jackson: "I think it's very important to not only get a win, but play a perfect game against a lower division opponent. I think we need to come out, try to play a perfect game, and we can still achieve all the goals we set up at the beginning of the season. I think it's important for the team to understand that and stress that point, that this is where the part starts."

2. Do you sense a resiliency with this team, which has been through a lot of these heartbreaking losses in the past couple of seasons?

Jackson: "I think it puts a chip on our shoulders. We're out there competing [in practice] like it was camp, and we're just trying to get better and perfect our trade individually so we can come together as a team. We're just trying to have fun, and that's the biggest thing."

3. Was it good to have a short week after the JSU loss because it left little time to dwell on what happened?

Jackson: "I think so. We watched the film, saw what we needed to work on, saw what caused us to lose that game so we can try to prevent it and not let it happen again. And after that we turned around and started getting ready for Glenville State."
