After some stumbles to open the 2013 season, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga softball team appears to be figuring out how to win together.

The Lady Mocs wrapped up a 3-1 weekend at the Auburn Tiger Invitational on Sunday with a 6-4 win over the previously unbeaten host Tigers. The win is UTC's third consecutive victory after starting the season 1-5.

The Lady Mocs (4-5) were led by sophomore third baseman Sarah Beth Roberts, who went 2-for-3 with a home run -- UTC's first of the season -- two RBIs and two runs scored.

Auburn jumped ahead with one run in the first inning and three in the fourth to lead 4-1, before UTC struck for four runs in the fifth inning with RBI hits by Roberts and freshman catcher Anyssa Robles and a two-run single by left fielder Jenny Garcia.

Sophomore pitcher Taylor Deason allowed four unearned runs on six hits while striking out eight to pick up the complete-game victory and even her pitching record at 3-3.

UTC lost 4 of 5 games in the opening weekend at the National Training Facility Invitational in Clermont, Fla., while commiting 13 errors over the five games in Florida. But after a 6-1 loss in Kansas on Friday, UTC reeled off wins over Indiana State and Tennessee State on Saturday leading up to the win over Auburn.

UTC will open its home schedule this weekend as host of the annual Frost Classic. The Lady Mocs will take on Eastern Kentucky and Lipscomb to open the tournament Friday.
