The Covenant College women's basketball team played its second consecutive overtime game against a Great South Athletic Conference opponent Tuesday night, but the host Lady Scots got a different result this time, winning 71-70 against the Salem College team that beat them by 21 points on Jan. 12.

Kiaira Cooper's layup with five seconds left in regulation tied the score at 61, and Alexis Storteboom had five rebounds in overtime and the clinching free throws with four seconds to go. That made the score 71-67.

Haley Soles scored 15 points and Storteboom had 12 rebounds with 12 points on 8-of-11 free-throw shooting for Covenant (8-8, 2-4), while Cooper had 10 points and matched Morgan Woodward's four steals. Satavia Taylor scored 28 points for Salem (11-9, 4-2).

• At Athens, the host Tennessee Wesleyan teams swept Point University in Appalachian Athletic Conference play, the Lady Bulldogs winning 66-48 and the Bulldogs prevailing 84-76 for their 10th straight win on the day they moved up to No. 25 in the NAIA Division II poll. Desmond Crisp scored 20 points, Tyler Burse had 19 points and 10 rebounds and E'Jay Ward had eight steals and five assists for TWC (17-7, 10-1).

Michelle Davis scored 15 points with four 3-pointers for the TWC women (13-8, 10-2), and Heather Gibson had 13 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and three steals. They led by 29 points early in the second half.

• At Dayton, host Bryan also won an AAC doubleheader, the Lady Lions by a 66-55 score against Montreat and the Lions by 66-53 with 18 points, nine rebounds and seven steals by Robert Riley. Brandon Cole added 12 rebounds and Derrick Walker had 10 oints, nine rebounds and four steals.

Morgan Burnette had 17 points, 12 rebonds and four blocked shots for the Lady Lions, who got 14 points and eight rebounds from Jenna Ray, 12 points from Abigail Pippenger and 11 points and seven assists from Keila Formont.

• At Henderson, Tenn., Jamorris Gaines had 25 points and eight rebounds and Will Barnes scored 17 points in No. 2-ranked Lee's 73-71 overtime nonconference NAIA Division I win at Freed-Hardeman. Lee is 20-1.

• At Tennessee Temple, the Crusaders crushed Truett-McConnell 84-59 as PJ Whittaker and Rashaud Bell scored 15 points each, Whittaker with 10 rebounds, and Corey Sanders added 14 points.
