Alabama sophomore tailback Altee Tenpenny was arrested last week on spring break in his hometown of North Little Rock, Ark.

Tenpenny was pulled over for a minor traffic violation when an officer noticed the smell of marijuana, according to the police report obtained by multiple media outlets in Little Rock. A search of the vehicle revealed a plastic bag with 2.1 grams of marijuana.

"I'm aware of the situation with Altee, and this is obviously not the kind of behavior we expect from our players," Alabama coach Nick Saban said Wednesday in a statement. "In addition to any punishment he may receive from a legal standpoint, we will have some internal discipline as well as education that he will be responsible for working through."

The 6-foot, 207-pounder practiced Wednesday, according to media members who were in attendance, and worked behind T.J. Yeldon, Derrick Henry, Kenyan Drake and Jalston Fowler. He is the third tailback from the Crimson Tide's 2013 roster to be arrested this year, joining Dee Hart and Alvin Kamara, who are no longer in the program.

Tenpenny was the No. 8 tailback nationally according to Rivals.com and No. 5 according to 247Sports.com in the 2013 signing class. He played mostly on special teams last season but also rushed 22 times for 82 yards and a touchdown, collecting his long run of 20 yards in the opening win over Virginia Tech.

Alabama worked out for two hours Wednesday in full pads, which was the sixth workout of the spring. The Crimson Tide will practice again Friday in preparation for Saturday's first scrimmage.

According to the media members in attendance Wednesday, starting right tackle Austin Shepherd was working on the left side of the line and Reggie Ragland was working as an outside linebacker for the second consecutive practice. With Ragland on the outside, sophomore Reuben Foster has joined senior Trey DePriest as the first-team inside linebackers.
