The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football program picked up a pair of commitments for the 2018 signing class Sunday.

Bledsoe County kicker Gabe Boring and Newton (Ga.) defensive end Dre Butler gave non-binding pledges to the school, giving it 17 players committed for the year. Thirteen of those signed during the December signing period.

Butler, a 6-foot-5, 244-pounder, missed his junior year due to a broken tibia suffered as a sophomore playing basketball, but had 50 tackles (20 for loss) and eight sacks in the 2017 season. He's the third defensive end commitment for the Mocs, joining Apopka (Fla.) product Mychal Austin - who signed in December - and Ben Brewton of Beach (Ga.), who recently committed.

Boring was the 2017 Tennessee Mr. Football Kicker of the Year, after averaging 46.8 yards per punt for the Warriors.
