University of Georgia redshirt sophomore nose tackle Jonathan Taylor was arrested Tuesday morning by university police on a felony charge of aggravated assault.

It is the second arrest this year for the 6-foot-4, 336-pounder from Millen, Ga., who was among the four Bulldogs players in March charged with trying to deposit student stipend checks twice. One of those four, safety Tray Matthews, was later dismissed from the program and has since transferred to Auburn.

According to university policy, a student-athlete charged with a felony is immediately suspended from athletic competition. The university had yet to comment on Taylor's arrest as of Tuesday night.

Taylor appeared in 10 of Georgia's 13 games last season, compiling nine tackles. His most productive performance occurred in the 45-6 rout of Appalachian State, when he had five tackles and a sack.
