The Tennessee baseball team is heading back to the Southeastern Conference tournament for the first time since 2007 after beating 13th-ranked Florida 7-5 on Saturday.
The Volunteers (31-22, 12-18) lost two of three games in the weekend series, but Saturday's win sends them into the postseason event that begins Tuesday in Hoover, Ala.
After trading runs with the Gators in the second inning, the Vols took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the third with RBI hits by Nick Senzel and Vincent Jackson and a bases-loaded walk for Tyler Schultz.
The Gators (37-19, 21-9) reclaimed the lead with three runs in the fifth, but UT answered with three runs in the bottom half of the inning with RBIs by A.J. Simcox, Derek Lance and Will Maddox.
Jacson and Simcox each had two hits for Tennessee, Simcox with two RBIs.
Andy Cox allowed five runs on seven hits with two walks and five strikeouts to pick up the pitching victory for UT. Shaun Anderson took the loss for the Gators, who used eight pitchers in the game.
