The Southeastern Conference's spring meetings drew to a close Friday afternoon in Destin, Fla., with league commissioner Mike Slive announcing another record jackpot.

A record take that could seem minuscule in a few years.

Slive said that approximately $309.6 million will be distributed for the 2013-14 fiscal year, with each school receiving roughly $20.9 million. The distributions are calculated based on the revenue sharing plan for the current fiscal year, which ends Aug. 31.

The $309.6 million is the largest distribution in SEC history, topping the $304.7 million in 2012-13. This year's total includes $292.8 million distributed from the league office as well as $16.8 million of contracted revenue retained by institutions that participated in 2013-14 bowl games.

The SEC Network, which is scheduled to launch on Aug. 14, is expected to generate another $15 million to $20 million per institution in the early years of the 20-year contract. That could swell to around $35 million per school by the latter stages of the deal.

This year's total distribution amount is comprised of revenue generated from football television, bowl games, the SEC football title game, basketball television, the SEC men's basketball tournament, various NCAA championships and a supplemental surplus distribution.

Five years ago, the SEC distributed $165.9 million to its 12 member institutions.

Georgia opener set

Georgia's 2014 football opener against Clemson at Sanford Stadium on Aug. 30 will have a 5:30 p.m. kickoff and will be televised by ESPN. Last year's meeting between the Bulldogs and Tigers, which Clemson won 38-35, was televised in prime time by ABC.

The Bulldogs lead the series with the Tigers, 41-18-4, and the two schools played annually from 1973 to 1987.
