SEPT. 5 vs. JACKSONVILLE STATE

6 p.m. at Finley Stadium, Chattanooga

Radio: 96.1 FM

Best game in series: The Gamecocks have won the past two meetings by three points each. Last season, the Mocs overcame a poor offensive showing with interception returns for touchdowns by Dee Virgin and Lucas Webb. UTC tied the game at 20 with 12:19 to play on a field goal by Henrique Ribeiro - his third - and had the opportunity to win late in regulation when Tommy Hudson returned a punt for a touchdown, only to have the play called back for a questionable holding penalty. The Gamecocks won in overtime on a 13-yard run by quarterback Eli Jenkins.

SEPT. 12 vs. MARS HILL

1 p.m. at Finley Stadium, Chattanooga

Radio: 96.1 FM

Series history: This is the Mocs' first matchup against the Lions. UTC hasn't played a Division II opponent since a 35-0 win against Glenville State on Sept. 13, 2012.

SEPT. 19 at SAMFORD

3:30 p.m. at Seibert Stadium, Birmingham, Ala.

TV/Radio: ASN/96.1 FM

Best game in series: UTC players and fans won't soon forget the previous trip to Birmingham, a game won 17-14 by the host Bulldogs when a Jacob Huesman pass fell just beyond the outstretched hands of fullback Taharin Tyson in overtime. The loss cost the Mocs a spot in the FCS playoffs.

SEPT. 26 at PRESBYTERIAN

7 p.m. at Bailey Memorial Stadium, Clinton, S.C.

Radio: 96.1 FM

Series history: The Mocs own a 4-2 series record, but before the 2009 meeting the programs hadn't played each other since 1962. In 2009, Bryan Fitzgerald had 181 yards rushing in a 29-13 win in Clinton.

OCT. 10 vs. FURMAN

1 p.m. at Finley Stadium, Chattanooga

Radio: 96.1 FM

Series history: After a 15-year losing streak in the series, the Mocs have won four of the past five meetings against the Paladins.

OCT. 17 at VMI

1:30 p.m. at Alumni Memorial Field, Lexington, Va.

TV/Radio: ESPN3/96.1 FM

Interesting note: The 55 points scored by the Mocs in last season's game was the program's most in the Russ Huesman era, topping the 51 scored twice.

OCT. 24 at WOFFORD

1:30 p.m. at Gibbs Stadium, Spartanburg, S.C.

Radio: 96.1 FM

Series history: After dropping the first five meetings, the Mocs have won 10 of the past 16. The Terriers have won the last seven in Spartanburg, however.

OCT. 31 vs. WESTERN CAROLINA

2 p.m. at Finley Stadium, Chattanooga

TV/Radio: ESPN3/96.1 FM

Interesting note: Keon Williams' 194-yard rushing performance last season was the 15th-best single-game total in UTC history, and second best against the Catamounts. Tony Ball's 213 yards in 1979 still are the most.

NOV. 7 at MERCER

4 p.m. at Five Star Stadium, Macon, Ga.

TV/Radio: ESPN3/96.1 FM

Interesting note: UTC's 38-31 win against the Bears in 2014 was the only Southern Conference game the Mocs didn't win by double digits.

NOV. 14 vs. THE CITADEL

2 p.m. at Finley Stadium, Chattanooga

Radio: 96.1 FM

Interesting note: UTC All-America linebacker Josh Cain had a school-record 30 tackles against the Bulldogs in 2002.

NOV. 21 at FLORIDA STATE

TBA, Doak Campbell Stadium, Tallahassee, Fla.

TV/Radio: ACC Network/96.1 FM

Series history: The programs have met twice, both wins by the Seminoles: 37-0 in 1984 and 44-7 in 2008, the season before Russ Huesman took over as UTC's coach.
