UTC women easily top Furman at home (slideshow)

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team took control early and rolled to a 67-45 win over Furman in Southern Conference play Saturday afternoon at McKenzie Arena.

Freshman Keiana Gilbert led the Mocs with 19 points, followed by Chesey Shumpert with 13, Jasmine Joyner with 12 and Ka'Vonne Towns with 11.

The Mocs shot 45 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from 3-point range.

Furman was led by Holli Wilkins - daughter of former UTC legend Gerald Wilkins - with 18 points.
