The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga athletics department finished 61st in the Capital One Cup standings, their highest placement in program history.

The award, which started during the 2010-11 season, is awarded annually to the best men's and women's Division I college athletics programs. Points towards the cup are earned throughout the year based on final standings of NCAA championships and final official coaches' polls.

UTC earned nine points with their quarterfinal appearance in the Football Championship Subdivision Playoffs. It's the first time they finished in the top 100 in the standings.

The Mocs' finish was ahead of six Atlantic Coast Conference and Big Ten schools, as well as five Southeastern Conference and Pac-12 schools and four from the Big 12.

Virginia won the men's trophy, while Stanford won the women.
