The 6-foot-3, 293-pounder, who prepped at Buford, was a three-star prospect and ranked as the No. 5 center in the nation prior to signing with the Bulldogs in 2013. He redshirted for a season, then played in one game last year.

He'll have three seasons of eligibility remaining, and will be on campus this weekend.

"He's a great get for us," UTC head coach Russ Huesman said. "He's a great kid from a fantastic family. We're heard nothing but positives from Georgia about him. I think he can come in and compete."

Cardiello is expected to add to an offensive line group that is solid, but young and inexperienced beyond the starters.

"I think he looked at what we had, and knows we have some quality guys," Huesman said. "We have good players and he can be part of a dynamic offensive. Our offensive line is good and he can make us better."
