The biggest name at Georgia's Pro Day on Wednesday didn't run, catch or lift.

Running back Todd Gurley is still recovering from the torn ACL he suffered last November against Auburn, but he easily drew the largest media gathering among Georgia's NFL hopefuls. The 6-foot-1, 232-pounder has been projected to go either late in the first round or early in the second.

"With my situation, I can't do the physical part," Gurley told reporters. "It's a good thing I've got a little film to prove a little something."

There were 29 NFL teams in attendance Wednesday, with only Arizona, Cincinnati and New York Jets not sending a representative. Head coach Bill O'Brien represented Houston.

Gurley visited Detroit earlier this week and is scheduled to visit Carolina today. He has been rehabbing this winter in Pensacola, Fla., and will travel to Indianapolis next month for another medical checkup with the hope of being ready by late July.

Through five games last season, Gurley had rushed for 773 yards and 8.2 yards per carry. He was averaging 10.6 yards a carry in the fourth quarter and was the favorite for the Heisman Trophy, but then he was suspended four games by the NCAA after the university learned that he had signed memorabilia for payment.

"I made a dumb mistake," Gurley said. "It's something I did my freshman and sophomore year, and I should have never done it. I knew the rules, but I still broke them.

"I'm definitely ready to move on and get on with my life, but it's still going to be brought up."

While receiver Chris Conley elected to let his sizzling, 4.35-second time in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine stand, linebackers Amarlo Herrera and Ramik Wilson went out and improved their numbers from February. Herrera ran a 4.78 after running a 4.83 in Indianapolis, while Wilson ran a 4.62 after running a 4.77.

Quarterback Hutson Mason was not invited to the combine, so Wednesday was his big stage. Mason ran a 4.79, had a broad jump of eight feet and six inches and had a vertical jump of 28 inches.

Watts Dantzler, the former Bulldogs offensive lineman out of Dalton High School, ran a 5.28, had a broad jump of nine feet and an inch, and had a vertical jump of 29 inches.
