The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga continued its hot start to Southern Conference softball play Saturday with an 11-0 win in six innings in the opener of a three-game series at East Tennessee State. The teams will play a doubleheader today, starting at 1 p.m.

Left fielder Nicole Osterman led the offense for the Mocs (21-8, 4-0), going 3-for-4 with two home runs, three runs scored and four RBIs. First baseman Jesslyn Stockard, who missed the early part of the season with an injury, also had a homer and four RBIs and was 2-for-4.

Second baseman Criket Blanco was 2-for-2 with two runs, and shortstop Alyssa Taylor knocked in two runs in the win.

Senior Taylor Deason threw a two-hit shutout to improve her season pitching record to 9-3. She allowed one walk and struck out five.

* At Knoxville, Taylor Koenig and Lexi Overstreet homered back to back in the bottom of the seventh inning to give 15th-ranked Tennessee a 4-3 Southeastern Conference win over No. 7 Georgia. That was after Annie Aldrete homered in the sixth to begin the comeback from a 3-0 deficit for the Lady Vols (24-7, 4-3). Anna Swafford homered for Georgia (29-6, 6-4).

* At Lexington, Ky., former Soddy-Daisy ace Kelsey Nunley pitched 15th-ranked Kentucky to a 3-1 SEC win over No. 1 LSU on Friday and faced the last batter with a three-pitch strikeout for a save in Saturday's 5-2 victory. Nunley (10-4) had a six-hitter Friday, outdueling Allie Walljasper (9-1).

* At Memphis, Chattanooga State completed a four-game TCCAA sweep of Southwest Tennessee with five-inning 19-1 and 15-1 victories Saturday. Morgan Boggess and Ericka Webster combined to pitch a three-hitter and McKenzi Ferguson followed with a one-hitter as Lindsey Stickrod was 4-for-4 with three homers, six RBIs and four runs scored, Dana Horgan was 2-for-3 with two homers and five RBIs and Courtney Styles was 3-for-3 with a homer for the sixth-ranked Lady Tigers (28-8, 15-1).

Courtney Crawford was 7-for-9 with five runs in the two games with two RBIs in the first, when Styles was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs and Katy Richardson and Stickrod each was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs. Stickrod homered in that game as well.

* At Cleveland, Cleveland State had its losing streak stretch to 11 games in 7-0 and 15-3 TCCAA losses Friday and 5-1 and 6-0 defeats Saturday against Walters State. Hannah Godfrey was 2-for-3 and Jennifer Kern drove in two of the runs for the Lady Cougars (4-16, 3-15) in the 15-3 game.

* At Pensacola, Fla., Lexie Dean was 8-for-9 as Lee won 7-6 and 6-0 over West Florida in a Gulf South doubleheader. Angie Hughes pitched a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts in game two for the Lady Flames (21-12, 11-8), when Dominique Hannah and Leigh Beatenbough each drove in two runs. Hannah also had two hits in the first game, when Dean was 5-for-5 and Emily Dagnan tripled and drove in two runs.

* At Dayton, Bryan edged Montreat 2-1 and 4-3 in nine innings in an Appalachian Athletic Conference doubleheader, lifting the Lady Lions to 17-9 overall and 9-1 in the league.

* At Madisonville, Tennessee Wesleyan improved to 19-5 by routing host Hiwassee 20-0 and 17-1.

* At Lookout Mountain, Peyton Hyler was 4-for-6 with four RBIs as North Carolina Wesleyan beat host Covenant 6-3 and 11-0 in USA South play. In the first game for Covenant (9-11, 2-10), Kasey Hart was 3-for-3 with an RBI and Kendall Whann and Amanda English each had two hits and scored a run.

* At Sewanee, the Tigers lost 21-0 and 20-0 against Southern Athletic Association opponent Berry (16-5, 7-2). Sewanee (0-12, 0-10) totaled seven hits in the two games.
