Auburn scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning with the help of a high fly dropped by left fielder C.J. McClain and went on to beat Tennessee 6-5 in nine innings in the Southeastern Conference softball tournament championship game Saturday night in Baton Rouge, La.

Carlee Wallace's two-out RBI smash down the third-base line scored Emily Carosone from second and gave Auburn (49-9) its first SEC softball title in the program's 19-year history.

Auburn scored a run in the first inning and made it 3-0 in the second but gave up a fourth-inning run to the Lady Vols and fell behind 5-3 as Tennessee scored three in the fifth -- Chattanooga's Tory Lewis the first of those when Megan Geer was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded -- and added a Meghan Gregg homer in the top of the seventh.
