Mocs get win over Hiwassee

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's basketball team claimed a 94-55 win over Hiwassee in front of 3,241 fans at McKenzie Arena on Monday.

Thirteen of the 14 players on the roster scored in Monday's win, led by Justin Tuoyo's 16 points and four blocks in 22 minutes of playing time. Freshman Peyton Woods had 14 on 4-for-7 3-pointers.

As a team, the Mocs had 25 assists on 36 made baskets and shot 56 percent from the floor while forcing 25 Hiwassee turnovers.

The Mocs jumped out to a 51-26 lead at the half, methodically pulling away from the Tigers in the first 20 minutes based on 60 percent shooting from the floor.

Former Brainerd standout Demetrius Kitchens had 12 points to lead the Tigers (4-4).

The Mocs (2-0) are on the road Saturday, playing the University of Illinois in Springfield, Ill.
