Jasmine Joyner finished with a career-high 31 points as the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team improved to 5-2 on the year with a 61-46 win over Tennessee-Martin in front of 1,338 fans at McKenzie Arena.

It's the team's final tune-up before they host top-ranked University of Connecticut on Monday at 6:30 at Finley Stadium.

The 6-foot-3 junior Joyner added 15 rebounds and seven blocks, tying the school record set by Alex Anderson, who had 221 from 2005-08.

UTC (5-2) took control of a five-point game at the half with a 12-4 third-quarter run, scoring the final 12 points of the period to lead 47-34.

Queen Alford added seven points, while Alicia Payne had five assists and only one turnover while playing all 40 minutes, as did Joyner.

Daijia Ruffin had 17 points, while Haley Howard added 10 for the Lady Skyhawks (2-4), who shot only 6-for-22 in the second half.
