KNOXVILLE -- Tennessee will debut its new Nike "Smokey Grey" alternate jerseys for Saturday's home game against No. 19 Georgia.

The Volunteers wore gray jerseys against the Bulldogs in 2013, when Georgia scored a late tying touchdown and won 34-31 in overtime.

Tennessee also wore the gray jerseys in the loss to Vanderbilt that season, but did not wear any alternate jerseys last season.

"As of right now, if we do get all the helmets in, I do want to announce that it'll be a 'Smokey Grey' game, so we will debut our 'Smokey Grey' uniforms," Tennessee coach Butch Jones said at his weekly press conference on Monday.

"It does not help you win a football game, but I know everyone's been looking forward to that."

The Vols are 2-3 after back-to-back losses against Arkansas and Florida, while Georgia is coming off a 38-10 home loss to Alabama on Saturday.

Howard dealing with concussion

Wide receiver Pig Howard, who's played in just two games this season, is questionable to play against Georgia, Jones said, as he continues to recover from a concussion.

"Pig's had a lot of nagging injuries," Jones said. "He's had an ankle, he's had an elbow and then he also had a concussion that occurred in the Western Carolina game.

"He's still suffering the effects of the concussion. He did not pass his impact test. He did not pass his concussion test last week. That's why you haven't seen him."

Howard will undergo further testing this week to determine his availability moving forward.

Phillips out this week

Freshman defensive end Kyle Phillips will not play against Georgia after suffering a shoulder injury late in the second quarter against Arkansas.

Phillips reached trying to make a tackle on Razorbacks running back Alex Collins just before halftime and stayed down after the play before walking off holding his arm.

Jones said Tennessee hopes Phillips will be able to return after the open date when the Vols play at Alabama.

North and Wiesman could play

Wide receiver Marquez North was a game-time decision before not playing against Arkansas due to lower-back stiffness, but Jones expects North will be able to play against Georgia.

Starting right guard Dylan Wiesman did not play in the second half against Arkansas, but Jones said he does not have a high ankle sprain.

"It's in his foot," he said. "He'll be available for practice, so we'll see how that goes."

If Wiesman cannot go, Tennessee will look at Mack Crowder and Jack Jones as possible replacements. Crowder has been the sixth man in on Tennessee's offensive line, and Butch Jones said he did some good things against Arkansas. The coach said he continues to be encouraged by the freshman Jones.
