SATURDAY'S STAR

The entire defensive front was dominant against the Blue Hose. The six-player unit had 15 tackles, four sacks, five tackles for loss and an interception return by Toyvian Brand for a touchdown. The Mocs also broke up four passes and for the second consecutive week gave opposing quarterbacks no time to throw.

SATURDAY'S STAT

Presbyterian had 8 yards on 18 plays in the second half, netting one first down. Their six possessions ended in four three-and-outs, a pick-six and a five-play drive that ended in a punt.

TURNING POINT

On the game's first possession, Josh Freeman had a sack and forced a fumble that was recovered by Keionta Davis at the Blue Hose's 11-yard line. That set the tone for the game, as three plays later Jacob Huesman scored from 7 yards out.

THE BIG PLAY

The game was pretty much in hand, but Brand's interception and return for a score on the first play of the fourth quarter sealed it. He found another gear on the return - admitting he was running a little "scared" for fear of being tackled - but reached the end zone for his first score since 12th grade.

WHAT IT MEANS

The defense dominated and the offense was solid. Don't look at the second-half yardage: The game was already in hand, and with the rainy elements it was easier to just put it in the hands of the defense. The Mocs will enter their off week having won three straight and feeling pretty good about themselves.
