Georgia picked up its first football commitment for the 2018 signing class on Thursday, receiving a nonbinding pledge from offensive tackle Max Wray of Franklin High School, near Nashville.

Wray is rated by 247Sports.com as the nation's No. 7 tackle in the '18 class and the No. 46 prospect overall. The 6-foot-6, 265-pounder is also rated as the Volunteer State's second-best '18 prospect behind Knoxville Catholic tackle Cade Mays, who is committed to Tennessee.

First-year Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart celebrated Wray's commitment on Twitter by posting, "First big piece to Elite '18."

Wray took unofficial visits within the past two weeks to both Georgia and Tennessee. He also had early scholarship offers from Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, Oregon, Southern California and Texas A&M.
