Kentucky senior pitcher Kelsey Nunley from Soddy-Daisy is one of the 10 finalists for the national 2016 Senior CLASS Award, the Premier Sports Management Group announced last week, and fans can vote for her once a day through May 9 at www.seniorCLASSaward.com.

Nunley also was the Southeastern Conference pitcher of the week for her 1-0 Saturday win at No. 8 LSU, where she also won 2-0 on Monday as 15th-ranked Kentucky completed a series of three shutout victories.

Nunley has a 15-4 record and leads the Wildcats (34-8, 11-4) with a 0.93 earned run average and 146 strikeouts in 120 2/3 innings, with 31 walks. A 2014 All-SEC selection, she is the program's all-time wins leader with 86. The 2014 Kentucky team reached the Women's College World Series with Nunley throwing every postseason pitch, and she made the WCWS all-tournament team.

She already has two undergraduate degrees, in communications and community and leadership development, with a grade point average above 3.00, and got the 2015 CATSPY Award for Ms. Wildcat as the highest honor for any Kentucky female athlete. She was a finalist for that award in 2014 and has a host of community-service activities to her credit in the Lexington and Chattanooga areas.
