Tony Ball wound up spending just one season as LSU's receivers coach.

The former University of Tennessee at Chattanooga running back and return specialist from Brainerd High School is no longer on LSU's staff, according to a university release sent out Saturday.

LSU head coach Les Miles announced that Ball was leaving "to pursue other opportunities."

Ball was hired by Miles last February after serving nine seasons on Mark Richt's staff at Georgia, working with running backs from 2006 to 2008 and with receivers the next six years.

Before serving as a Bulldogs assistant, he spent eight seasons as Frank Beamer's receivers coach at Virginia Tech.

As a UTC player, Ball led the nation in kickoff returns with a 36.4-yard average in 1977. He was named to UTC's all-century team in 2003 as the return specialist.

Miles also announced Saturday that Jabbar Juluke would be his new running backs coach. Juluke was briefly at Texas Tech following a three-year stint at Louisiana Tech and replaces Frank Wilson, who became the new coach at Texas-San Antonio last month.
