The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's director of athletic performance, Scott Brincks, received the highest honor of his profession Thursday night at the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association national conference in Fort Worth, Texas.

Brincks was one of 31 newly certified master strength and conditioning coaches, making 187 the total in the CSCCa with that designation. He received a blue MSCC jacket at the conference banquet from Greg Werner, an MSCC from Auburn.

"This is an incredible honor for Scott," CSCCa executive director Chuck Stiggins said, as quoted in a UTC release. "Being named a master strength and conditioning coach signifies a commitment to the student-athlete, the UTC athletics program and the strength and conditioning profession. He is truly a model of an outstanding strength and conditioning professional."

Among other criteria, MSCC certification requires a minimum of 12 years full time as a collegiate and/or professional strength coach.
