The Tennessee Wesleyan men's basketball team finally got in the win column after two losses by edging Keiser 85-82 in the Union College tournament Saturday at Barbourville, Ky.
QD Cox scored 17 points and Will Gardner and Keno Jones scored 13 and 12 with 10 rebounds each for the Bulldogs. Tre Tiller contributed nine rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
TWU's Lady Bulldogs, meanwhile, got even at 1-1 with an 84-74 defeat of Brescia in the Indiana East tournament at Richmond, Ind.
The Dalton State men went to 2-0 with an 89-52 win at Kentucky Christian, which beat Hiwasseee 87-75 on Friday for the Tigers' first loss.
In exhibition games at Lee University, the Lady Flames beat Bryan 85-60 and the Flames downed Piedmont 100-73. Keevin Tyus had 25 points, 10 rebounds and six assists and Jervon Robinson was 6-of-8 on 3-point shots in scoring 20 points for the Lee men, who got 13 points from Cody Jones, 12 from Cody Farley and 10 apiece from Rico Overall and Parker Suedekum.
For the Lee women, who also won an exhibition Thursday night at Memphis, Lindsey Roddy scored 14 points with three 3s, Carrie Cheeks had 13 points and eight rebounds, Maddie Long had 12 points and five assists and Taylor Boggess and Abby Bertram each tallied 11 points. Megan Billingsby led Bryan with 21 points, and Ashli Chew was next with eight.
- Cleveland State (w) 59, Atlanta Metro 39: At Atlanta, the Lady Cougars evened their record at 1-1 as Keya Jenkins had 20 points and 11 rebounds and Leasa Butler added 11 and eight. Abby Hubert scored 10 points.
