After taking a 2-0 lead on goals by Jordan Mueller from assists by Emily Moseley and McKenzie Gregg, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga soccer team played to a 2-2 Southern Conference draw Friday night against East Tennessee State at Finley Stadium. The Mocs are 5-8-2, 3-2-1. Eleonora Goldoni and Georgia Allen scored in the second half for ETSU (9-4-2, 4-1-1).

* Kinsey Cichowitz scored three goals and Lauren Peters had two as Lee University swamped visiting West Alabama 6-0 in Gulf South women's soccer Friday. Summer Lanter had two early assists and scored the last goal from a Carly Smoltz assist for the Lady Flames (9-2-1, 6-1), and McKenzie Bricker had three assists. UWA's men (8-4, 4-1) won 2-1 over Lee (8-5, 3-2) in Livingston, Ala., with Jake Molony scoring late for the Flames.

* Goals by Anna Porch, Kaitlyn Winking and Ashlyn Franks gave Covenant a 3-0 USA South women's soccer victory over visiting Wesleyan (Ga.) on Friday. Porch, who headed in an Anna Robertson cross at 2:59, assisted on Franks' second-half goal for the Lady Scots (12-2, 10-1). They had a 25-0 shots margin.

* The Covenant men lost 4-2 to visiting Greensboro College, which led 3-0 at halftime. Henry Paris scored from an Isaac Johnson assist and Josh McDaniel netted a free kick for Covenant (3-9-2, 3-5).

* Sewanee's scheduled Southern Athletic Association soccer doubleheader Friday afternoon at Rhodes was postponed until this morning because of heavy rain and standing water on the field.

* Dalton State's 2-1 SSAC victory over Faulkner on Thursday featured a tying rebound goal by Jordan Mann late in the first half and the winner by Daniel Valenciano 12 minutes into overtime for the Roadrunners (9-1-1, 4-1).

* Both Baylor School teams, McCallie and the East Hamilton girls received National Soccer Coaches Association of America team academic awards for 2015-16. The award requires a minimum aggregate grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale, and the East Hamilton Lady Hurricanes coached by Carrie Hill had a 4.0 and Tullahoma's boys coached by Richie Chadwick had a 3.94. The Baylor teams coached by Curtis Blair had a 3.67 GPA (girls) and a 3.57, and the McCallie side coached by Chris Cushenbery had a 3.50.

Volleyball

* The Lee University volleyball team got to .500 for the season Friday with its third consecutive win, 3-1 (26-24, 25-23, 23-25, 25-17) over Rollins in the South Region Crossover at Orlando, Fla. Catherine Conley had 14 kills and Crystal Dedes had 13 on .522 hitting for the Lady Flames (8-8), who got 10 kills apiece and 15 and 14 digs from Brooke Wilsman and Silvia Sartori. Sadie Johnson had 30 assists and Kristi Farley had 19.

* Dalton State won the first two sets but wound up needing seven straight points, six on Julia Borges' serve and the last four on sets by Clarissa Weber, to win 3-2 (25-23, 25-15, 24-26, 16-25, 16-14) over visiting Brenau in SSAC volleyball. Anna Metzler had 13 kills and 11 digs, Weber had 21 assists and 13 digs and Olivia Keegan made 15 digs for DSC (6-13, 5-7) in the match, which ended on a Cassandra Cox kill after two in a row by Grace Hardin.

Golf

* David Noll Jr. of Dalton headlines the Georgia State Golf Association team of 16 amateurs taking on professionals from the Georgia Section PGA in the biennial Billy Peters Cup Matches being held Sunday and Monday at The Legends at Chateau Elan. Noll, an eight-time GSGA player of the year, is in the competition for the eighth consecutive time.

Basketball

* Coach Marty Rowe's Lee women's basketball team was picked to finish fourth in the Gulf South this season, and the Lee men under new coach Bubba Smith were predicted to be 12th. Lee junior Erin Walsh was a unanimous selection to the All-GSC women's preseason team. The Lady Flames were picked behind favorite Union University, Delta State and West Florida, and Alabama-Huntsville was the men's top choice with West Georgia second and Delta State third.
