It was a victorious but still partly frustrating day for Dalton State College in its competition Thursday against Brewton-Parker. The DSC soccer teams both traveled to Mount Vernon, Ga., for what turned out to be easy Southern States Athletic Conference wins, and the volleyball Roadrunners won 3-0 (25-19, 25-10, 25-8) in their evening match in Dalton. But the women's soccer team (5-2-1, 1-0) got a forfeit win and made the trip to southern Georgia without getting to play. Brewton-Parker reportedly is down to eight available players and decided to cancel the rest of its women's season. The Dalton State men (7-0-1, 1-0) won 4-1, giving up a late Barons goal. Anna Metzler had eight kills and nine digs, Brooke Thomas had 15 assists, Clarissa Weber added 10 assists and Karly Newman had 13 digs for the DSC volleyball squad (4-9, 3-5).

- The Sewanee women's soccer team played to a scoreless tie through two overtime periods Wednesday night at Trevecca Nazarene. Sewanee is 4-5-1; Trevecca is 6-2-1.
