Lee baseball wins, loses at Christian Brothers

After scoring two runs in each of the last two innings and winning 6-3 in Gulf South baseball Saturday in Memphis, Lee University gave up two runs in each of the last two innings of game two and lost 5-4 to Christian Brothers.

Chase Andrews batted in three runs, Spencer Mossburg was 3-for-5 and Drew Johnson had two hits in the win for Lee (24-19, 11-16). Nathan Wierzgac had a three-run homer in the loss.

- Bryan 7-9, Milligan 2-0: At Milligan, five Lions pitchers minimized eight hits and then Chad Burrows and Sam Salyers combined on a three-hit AAC shutout.

Lake Burris homered, doubled and drove in three runs and Wade Weinburger was 2-for-3 with two runs for Bryan (29-13, 13-7) in the first game. Justin Morhardt homered and singled and Trevor Behrent was 3-for-4 with two doubles, each with two RBIs, in game two, when Fernando Garcia was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

- Sewanee 9-1, Centre 6-9: At Danville, Ky., the visiting Tigers scored six runs in the first inning of the SAA doubleheader, with Jackson Cooper hitting a solo homer and Drew Mancuso a three-run shot, and Jack Bartlewski homered in the sixth.

Cooper and Trey Akins each had two hits, two runs and an RBI in that game for Sewanee (18-18, 8-9), and Akins was 2-for-4 and scored the run in the loss.
