Carly Morrow Moss was inducted Saturday into the Girls Preparatory School Athletic Hall of Fame. She starred for the Bruisers in soccer, basketball and track and field before graduating in 2007. She was named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association all-state teams in both soccer and basketball and made the all-state-tournament teams in both sports. A three-year starter in basketball, she was nominated for the McDonald's All-America team and was the MVP of the Times Free Press Best of Preps team. She helped GPS claim three consecutive state track titles, earning 13 state-meet medals in seven events. She then helped Kentucky reach the NCAA basketball tournament twice, including an Elite Eight appearance.

Boat Sports

- Michael Neal of Dayton moved up from fourth to second place on the final day of the Bassmaster Opens tournament out of Dayton Boat Dock, which he operates. John Cox of Debary, Fla., won the Bass Pro Shops Southern Open No. 2 on Chickamauga Lake with 68 pounds, 3 ounces for three days with his 20-6 haul Saturday, but Neal's 24-6 was the day's biggest bag and he totaled 65-6. Ooltewah's David Gladden II was seventh among the co-anglers with 24-11, and Chattanooga's Tim Patterson was 10th with 19-13.

- Local sailors Rob Fowler and Scott Cline won Saturday in the first race of the annual Choo Choo Flying Scot Regatta hosted by Privateer Yacht Club. Mark and Michele Taylor of Tampa, Fla., and Ryan and Stacy Malmgren of Madison, Wis., followed the PYC duo. The two-day event has 29 teams.

Lacrosse

- The top-seeded Tennessee Wesleyan women's lacrosse team remained undefeated against Appalachian Athletic Conference competition this season with a 15-11 win over No. 2 seed Columbia (S.C.) in the AAC tournament final Saturday at Waleska, Ga. TWU senior Jasmine Hickman, the league's offensive player of the year, was the tournament most outstanding player after scoring seven goals and collecting 13 ground balls Saturday. She also had an assist, while Casey Schaefer scored four goals, Mikayla Virden had two goals and an assist and Lauren McHugh had a goal and three assists. Goalie Kelly Bilz made seven saves and joined Hickman on the all-tournament team along with defenders Margaret Waite and Brittany Turner for the Lady Bulldogs (13-3). They will play in the NAIA National Invitational in Greenville, S.C., May 3-6.

Track & Field

- Lee University won the women's title and finished third in the men's standings in the Gulf South outdoor track and field meet Saturday in Rome, Ga., and the Lady Flames' Jessica Childers was the women's most outstanding track and overall performer while Camilla Sims was the most outstanding field performer and freshman. Childers won the 1500- and 5000-meter runs and was second in the 3000 steeplechase and third in the 800; Sims won the shot put and discus. Lee's Adrian Martin set meet records for the women's 100 and 200, and Cayce Bryan set the 800 record. Those four were joined as first-team all-conference by Jordan Allison (heptathlon), Audrey Smith (steeplechase) and Nicolette Gordon (pole vault), and Smith was second-team for the 5000 and 10000. Childers, Smith and Amy Carpenter were first through third in the 5k, and Allison, Charlee Boxall and Kiley Brock had fourth-place finishes in other events Saturday. For the Lee men, Christian Noble (steeple, 5000), Josiah Brooks (triple jump), Justin Brooks (400) and Harold Smith (1500) were first-team All-GSC for wins, and Smith (800) and Seth Eagleson (5000) were second-team after runner-up finishes. Justin and Josiah were third and fourth in the 200, Josiah fourth in the 100 and Lee third in the 4x400 relay.

Baseball/Softball

- Tennessee Wesleyan's sixth-ranked baseball team completed an AAC series sweep of Point with 12-2 and 6-3 wins Saturday. Nehwon Norkeh was 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored and Dan Ward hit a two-run home run in the finale, when Malik Stephens and Edwin Bonilla each was 2-for-4 for TWU (34-14, 19-5).

- The Covenant baseball team concluded its season Saturday with an 8-7 win and a 7-4 loss against visiting Methodist. Alex Kerr had an RBI single and the game-ending three-run home run in the win for Covenant (14-24), while Trenton Nobles homered and tripled and drove in three runs. In the rain-shortened second game, Forrest Hunter was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, Joel Johnson was 2-for-2 with a homer and a double and Stephen Kegley also was 2-for-2. For Methodist (17-21), Alex Kachler doubled and hit a grand slam in the seven-run fifth inning.

- Sewanee lost 4-2 and 3-0 in SAA baseball at Birmingham-Southern. Ryan Poole drove in the two runs for the Tigers (18-20, 8-11).
