Sept. 4

GEORGIA TECH

At Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta

TV/radio: ESPN/106.5 FM/8 p.m.

Best win in series: Tennessee leads 24-17-2, but the programs have not met since 1987. The Volunteers' biggest win came in 1956, when they were ranked No. 3 in the country and went on the road to beat No. 2 Georgia Tech 6-0. The Yellow Jackets were members of the SEC at the time, and the win propelled Tennessee, coached by Bowden Wyatt, to an SEC title and Sugar Bowl appearance.

Sept. 9

INDIANA STATE

At Neyland Stadium, Knoxville

TV/radio/time: SEC Network/ 106.5 FM/4 p.m.

Best win in series: The teams have never met. Indiana State plays in the Missouri Valley Conference at the Football Championship Subdivision level. The Sycamores' first-year coach, Curt Mallory, was the 2011-14 secondary coach at Michigan for Brady Hoke, who now is the Tennessee defensive line coach.

Sept. 16

FLORIDA

At Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville, Fla.

TV/radio/time: CBS/106.5 FM/3:30 p.m.

Best win in series: It's hard to top Tennessee's 1998 overtime victory that resulted in a fan mob dumping Neyland Stadium's goal posts in the Tennessee River. Last year's 38-28 Vols victory was sweet, too, though. It snapped the Gators' 11-game win streak in the series. Now the Vols try to win in Gainesville for the first time since 2003.

Sept. 23

MASSACHUSETTS

At Neyland Stadium, Knoxville

TV/radio/time: TBA/106.5 FM/TBA

Best win in series: The teams have never met. Massachusetts competes as one of four independent teams on the FBS level. The Minutemen completed their transition from FCS in 2013 and have yet to qualify for a bowl game. They nearly won at Vanderbilt in 2014 but fell 34-31.

Sept. 30

GEORGIA

At Neyland Stadium, Knoxville

TV/radio/time: TBA/106.5 FM/TBA

Best win in series: Last year's Hail Mary heave from Josh Dobbs to Jauan Jennings as time expired gave Tennessee a 34-31 win and capped the most memorable recent duel in a growing series of classic games between the SEC East rivals. Expect to see the play shown several times during this year's rematch.

Oct. 14

SOUTH CAROLINA

At Neyland Stadium, Knoxville

TV/radio/time: TBA/106.5 FM/TBA

Best win in series: During Butch Jones' first year as Tennessee's coach in 2013, a young Vols team had to play five straight games against teams ranked in the top 11. They pulled off a seemingly miraculous 23-21 win over the Gamecocks to lessen the sting of an otherwise brutal stretch for a first-year SEC coach. South Carolina derailed Tennesssee's division championships last season.

Oct. 21

ALABAMA

At Bryant-Denny Stadium, Tuscalooa, Ala.

TV/radio/time: TBA/106.5 FM/TBA

Best win in series: Peyton Manning cemented his legacy as a sophomore in 1995 when he directed the Vols to their first win over the Crimson Tide in 10 years. Tennessee's next win the series, if it ever comes, likely will surpass that one in significance to most Vols fans because the Tide's win streak in the series has reached 10 games.

Oct. 28

KENTUCKY

At Kroger Field, Lexington, Ky.

TV/radio/time: TBA/106.5 FM/TBA

Best win in series: Tennessee stole a four-overtime thriller from the Wildcats 10 years ago. The 52-50 win allowed the Vols to represent the SEC East in the conference championship game the following week. Kentucky ended Tennessee's 26-game winning streak in the series in 2011, but the Vols have not lost since.

Nov. 4

SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI

At Neyland Stadium, Knoxville

TV/radio/time: TBA/106.5 FM/TBA

Best win in series: The Vols are 5-0 all-time against the Golden Eagles. A 39-19 win over Southern Miss in the second game of 2007 provided them a nice confidence boost between losses to California and Florida. That was the last time Tennessee won the SEC East.

Nov. 11

MISSOURI

At Memorial Stadium, Columbia, Mo.

TV/radio/time: TBA/106.5 FM/TBA

Best win in series: Tennessee is 2-3 all-time against Missouri, all the meetings coming since the Tigers joined the SEC in 2012. A 19-8 victory at Missouri in 2015 was fourth in a six-game winning streak for Tennessee to end its third season under Jones. The teams combined for 100 points in Tennessee's 63-37 win last year.

Nov. 18

LSU

At Neyland Stadium, Knoxville

TV/radio/time: TBA/106.5 FM/TBA

Best win in series: Tennessee leads 20-9-3 but has dropped five straight meetings to the Tigers. Tennessee's best win in the modern era came in 2005 when the Vols, led by backup quarterback Rick Clausen, overcame a 21-0 halftime deficit to defeat the No. 4-ranked Tigers on the road. LSU's only other loss that season came in the SEC championship game.

Nov. 25

VANDERBILT

At Neyland Stadium, Knoxville

TV/radio/time: TBA/106.5 FM/TBA

Best win in series: Tennessee rattled off 22 straight wins in the series from 1983 to 2004. Now it's a battle every year. Going back in time, a 35-27 win over the Commodores capped Tennessee's undefeated 1951 season and helped the Vols become the consensus national champions.
