Charlton Warren leaving Tennessee staff to coach at Florida

Charlton Warren is changing locations within the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference.

After spending the last 11 months as Tennessee's secondary coach and special teams coordinator, Warren was hired Friday to perform the same roles at Florida. The Gators are now coached by Dan Mullen, who changed SEC divisions after spending the past nine seasons at Mississippi State.

"Really enjoyed my time here at RockyTop!" Warren posted Friday on Twitter. "Want to wish all the players nothing but success in the future, and I appreciate getting a chance to coach and mentor the #Savages this season. Best of luck fellas!"

The Volunteers allowed just 161.7 passing yards a game this season, which ranks sixth nationally. They allowed 412.9 total yards a game, which ranks 81st.

Warren coached defensive backs at North Carolina during the 2015 and 2016 seasons. He coached the secondary at Nebraska in 2014 after nine seasons on the defensive staff at Air Force, his alma mater.
