Around the Region: Sonoraville's Bryce Waters will play hoops at GNTC

Georgia Northwestern Technical College recently added Sonoraville High School's Bryce Waters to its men's basketball recruits for the 2017-18 season. The 6-foot-5 Waters averaged 13 points, nine rebounds, four blocked shots and three steals a game as a senior for the Phoenix, who improved to 22-8 and Region 6-AAA runners-up after going 11-13 the year before. "He's been a good player for us for the past several years," Sonoraville coach Brent Mashburn said in a GNTC release. "He has size, but he can also step out and play on the perimeter, and that makes him hard to guard. He's an emotional kid who plays with a lot of energy and passion." Said Bobcats coach David Stephenson: "Bryce not only has size, but he has mobile size and tough, able-to-bang and play-really-gritty size."
