Tennessee beat host Texas A&M 8-6 on Sunday to win the weekend series and earn the No. 3 seed for this week's Southeastern Conference tournament in Knoxville.

The 12-team, single-elimination tournament begins Wednesday at Lee Stadium. The championship game is set for 8 p.m. Saturday.

The Volunteers (44-9, 16-7 SEC), who are ranked ninth nationally, earned a first-round bye and will play at 7:30 p.m. Thursday against the winner of Wednesday's game between No. 6 seed LSU and No. 11 seed Missouri.

SEC Network is televising the tournament's first two rounds, ESPNU is carrying the semifinals and ESPN will air the championship game.

The No. 6-ranked Aggies (42-9, 16-7) fell to the fourth seed after Sunday's loss.
