The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga volleyball team won 3-0 in its Southern Conference match Friday night at Western Carolina. The set scores were 25-13, 25-22, 25-23. Dani Szczepanski, Miranda Elpers and Ally Ford each had 11 kills for UTC (12-11, 5-4), Szczepanski with a .474 attack percentage and three aces and Ford and Elpers with 15 and 10 digs. Megan Kaufman had 20 digs for the Mocs, while Madison Bergren and Lauren Greenspoon set 19 and 13 assists.

-Silvia Sartori registered 15 kills, five aces and 14 digs in leading Lee University to a 3-0 Gulf South Conference volleyball win (25-18, 25-23, 25-19) Friday at Montevallo. Kristi Farley had 24 assists and Sadie Johnson added 14 for the Lady Flames (15-6, 6-3), while MaKayla Beebe had 23 digs and Bailey Kress contributed nine kills.

-Brenau University won 3-2 (23-25, 25-13, 20-25, 25-20, 15-8) in an Appalachian Athletic Conference match Friday at Bryan. Anna Owens had 14 kills and three aces, Mariah Dunlop 12 kills and Brooke Stowell eight kills in defeat for the Lady Lions (5-19, 4-10), who got 32 digs from Kristen Parrish and 27 assists from Sidney Pierce. Savannah Wilbanks had 54 assists and 12 digs and fellow Sonoraville graduate Haley Ponder had 12 kills and 10 digs for Brenau (7-17, 6-6).

-Marjorie Smith and Avery Hilliard each had nine kills and Tia Madden and Gabi Catt had 16 assists apiece as Tennessee Wesleyan beat visiting Truett McConnell 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-16) in AAC volleyball. Madden also had 11 digs, two fewer than team leader Kailyn Lillie, and Elizabeth Houk served four aces for the Lady Bulldogs (6-18, 2-12). TMU is 3-18, 2-13.

-Cleveland State defeated Georgia Northwestern 3-0 (25-7, 25-21, 25-18) on Thursday and rose to 13-5 in the program's inaugural season. Anna Schorle had seven kills, Morgen Simmons 20 digs and Kayleigh Goff 13 digs for GNTC (1-15), which hosts Pensacola Christian and Andrew College today in its annual Pink Games promoting breast cancer awareness, beginning at 1 p.m.

Soccer

-SoCon leader Furman needed nearly six minutes of overtime to edge UTC 1-0 in women's soccer Friday night at Finley Stadium. Molly Dwyer scored from a Caitlyn Reilly pass at 95:47 for the Paladins (12-2-1, 8-0), who outshot the Mocs (4-9-4, 2-4-2) 21-4 with a 10-2 margin in shots on goal. Bailey Coppedge made eight saves for UTC, which hosts Wofford in the regular-season finale Sunday at 2 p.m.

-The Lee women's team topped visiting Alabama-Huntsville 1-0 after the UAH men won 4-2 in a GSC soccer doubleheader Friday. Alfie Coldron and Samaan Williams gave the Lee men (5-5-4, 4-4-2) leads of 1-0 and 2-1, Coldron on a rebound of a saved Williams shot, but the Chargers (7-5-2, 6-1-2) scored three goals in a four-minute span in the second half. Corentin Diverres sandwiched two around one by Guy Clennett, who matched Jordan Wright with a goal and an assist. The goal for the Lady Flames (11-4, 10-2) came at 84:47 from Kelsey Yoder, one-timing a cross into the box by Riley Engels. Lee had a 34-1 shots margin, 13-0 on goal. UAH's Megan Buford had 12 saves.

-Covenant College lost 3-2 in overtime in USA South men's soccer at Greensboro College. Covenant (6-11-1, 2-6-1) took 1-0 and 2-1 leads against the USAS East co-leader (13-4, 8-1) on goals by Jonathan Barrett and Ethan Pettit, the latter assisted by Christopher Kitchen, but was outshot 20-4. Carlos Barragan and Gerardo Peraza scored the equalizers for the Pride and combined to set up Jacob Owens' golden goal in the 102nd minute.

Tennis

-UTC sophomore Niklas Gerdes and freshman Jacob Marshall won consolation singles matches Friday in the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals in Knoxville. Marshall won 6-2, 6-2 over Purdue's Renan Hanayama and faces Matt Story of Memphis this morning. Gerdes beat Belmont's David Faulkner and takes on Indiana's Andrew Redding today. Marshall and Cooper Long lost 8-2 in main-draw doubles against the No. 9 seeds from Dayton.
