With Nick Chubb and Sony Michel down to their final few games as Georgia running backs, the Bulldogs already have another touted tandem on the way.

James Cook, the 6-foot, 181-pound younger brother of Minnesota Vikings rookie running back Dalvin Cook, announced Thursday night via social media that he has committed to Georgia's 2018 signing class. Cook is rated the nation's No. 3 running back in the 247Sports.com composite rankings.

The nation's No. 1 running back, Zamir White (6-1, 220) of Laurinburg, N.C., committed to the Bulldogs in June.

Tailback tandems are nothing new for Georgia, which landed Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall in the 2012 signing class. Gurley and Marshall combined for 2,144 rushing yards as freshmen.

Chubb and Michel arrived in 2014, and Chubb has surpassed 4,000 career rushing yards with Michel needing just 97 yards to reach 3,000.

Georgia, which also received a commitment earlier this month from top national dual-threat quarterback prospect Justin Fields of Kennesaw, Ga., now owns the nation's No. 5 class of commitments according to 247Sports. Ohio State, Texas, Miami and Penn State are the only schools ahead of the Bulldogs, who were No. 60 in the rankings back in July.

Cook, the No. 72 overall prospect in the 2018 class out of Miami Central High School, committed to Florida State in March 2016 but opened up his recruitment in July. Dalvin Cook is FSU's all-time leading rusher with 4,464 yards and set the single-season record for the Seminoles with 1,756 yards last season.

A second-round pick of the Vikings this past spring, the elder Cook had rushed for 354 yards and was averaging 4.8 yards per carry until tearing his ACL during the fourth game against Detroit.
