University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football coach Tom Arth announced Friday the hiring of Greg Harbaugh as the new wide receivers coach.
Harbaugh spent last season as a quality control assistant at Minnesota. He also served as an offensive graduate assistant at Western Michigan and had stops at Marietta (Ohio) College and Methodist University from 2011 to 2015.
He played at NCAA Division III Averett University, mainly as a receiver but also completing three passes - all for touchdowns - as a sophomore.
"We are very excited to welcome Greg and his wife Emily to the Chattanooga family," Arth said in a release. "Going through the interview process is always exciting, because it offers an opportunity to learn and to improve your program. In my experience interviewing, you always hope to meet someone who exceeds your expectations and clearly sets himself apart from the competition. Greg has done that.
"His passion and expertise teaching the intricacies of the wide receiver position, along with his knowledge of offensive football and the different recruiting experiences he has, positions our program very well as we look forward to the coming season and beyond."
Harbaugh replaces Ryan Aplin, who became the offensive coordinator at North Alabama in February.
Ticket promotion
UTC is running a promotion for season tickets that benefits those who purchase early.
Anybody who purchases tickets by May 1 receives a 2018 season Mocs flag, priority for the seat-selection process, special-edition season tickets, an invitation to the exclusive season-ticket-holder event and a Mocs clear bag for stadium use.
Those who purchase May 2 to June 1 get special-edition season tickets, invitations to the season-ticket-holder event and Mocs clear bags, and buyers between then and July 1 get invitations to the exclusive event and the Mocs clear bag.
