GOLDEN EAGLES REPORT

Tennessee Tech has won three of its past four games, but only one of those victories came against a Division I opponent (Savannah State), and the Golden Eagles have yet to win a game away from Cookeville this season. They lost 71-60 to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on Dec. 1. Due to injuries and a roster full of new players, the Golden Eagles have used five lineups so far, with eight players logging starts.

KEY MATCHUP

A week off from competition has given the Volunteers time to heal from some nicks and bruises, but they still won't have Lamonte Turner back as he struggles to fully recover from offseason shoulder surgery. It shouldn't matter in this game, because Tennessee Tech has struggled against Power Five conference programs (giving up at least 100 points and losing by at least 50 against both North Carolina and Michigan State), and with Southeastern Conference competition starting next weekend for the Vols, today will provide another opportunity to settle into a rotation in the event Turner can't return.
