The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wrestling team closed its regular season Saturday with a 27-6 win over Campbell in Buies Creek, N.C.
The Mocs finished their duals schedule 8-7 overall with a 6-1 mark against Southern Conference competition. The victory at Campbell gave them a second-place finish in the league, with their only loss a two-point defeat to league champion Appalachian State on Feb. 4.
UTC's next competition is the SoCon tournament March 3 in Charleston, S.C.
The Mocs had no pins against the Camels (8-8, 5-2), but Alonzo Allen (125 pounds), Chad Pyke (165) and Bryce Carr (184) all won by major decision. Carr improved to 23-5 this season, and 15 of his wins have been by either major decision, technical fall or pin.
Chris Debien (133), Michael Pongracz (141), Jake Adcock (157), Justin Lampe (174) and Scottie Boykin (197) won by decision as the Mocs took eight of the 10 matches.
