The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wrestlers lost 20-17 to Old Dominion on Saturday and finished fourth in the silver bracket of the Virginia Duals in Hampton, Va.

The Mocs (4-6) will host SIU-Edwardsville at 7 p.m. Friday in a Southern Conference match.

UTC Was in the silver round by virtue of a 1-1 mark in the Poquoson River pool, with a win over Kent State and a loss to 11th-ranked Northern Iowa. The Mocs then fell to 20th-ranked Lock Haven in the silver semifinals, setting up Saturday's consolation match.

ODU won the first two indivdual matches, and then UTC's Mike Pongracz earned a major decision at 141 pounds. After another two losses to fall behind 14-4, the Mocs rallied to tie the score at 17 with a Chad Pyke decision at 165, a first-period pin by Bryce Carr at 184 and a major-decision win by Scottie Boykin at 197.

In the final match, Monarchs heavyweight Ali Wabab scored a pair of takedowns and was able to hold off Ben Stacey — who bumped up from 197 pounds — for a 4-2 win that decided the team outcome.

Boykin went 4-0 in the Virginia Duals. Fellow seniors Pyke and Carr each was 3-1.

After wrestling only two duals at home so far this season, the Mocs will be in Maclellan for three of their final five matches — all league battles.
