KNOXVILLE - Tennessee basketball forward Admiral Schofield announced Thursday that he is submitting his name for consideration in the 2018 NBA draft.

Schofield, who averaged 13.9 points per game as a junior this season, made the announcement in a post on Twitter.

Schofield wrote in the announcement that he will not hire an agent, which means he could return to the Volunteers if he withdraws his name from draft consideration by May 30.

"Coach (Rick) Barnes has encouraged me to go through that process, work out for teams, and learn as much as I can about the transition from college to professional basketball," Schofield wrote. "I'm looking forward to the opportunity to receive feedback from NBA personnel and see where I stand. I appreciate the support of all my coaches and of course Tennessee fans. GO VOLS."

Schofield and SEC player of the year Grant Williams both indicated after Tennessee's loss in the second round of the NCAA tournament earlier this month that they planned to return for the 2018-19 season.

"It's not over," Schofield said at the time. "We've still got a lot to build on, but you want to go further than this. We haven't been here in a while, so it's good to be able to be back, but we'll be back. We'll be back."

Schofield emerged as Tennessee's emotional leader as the team shared the 2017-18 SEC regular-season championship. He was named second-team All-SEC and was the Vols' leading rebounder.
