KNOXVILLE - A four-star junior college linebacker for the 2019 recruiting class committed to Tennessee on Sunday, choosing the Volunteers over reigning national champion Alabama and other programs.
Lakia Henry of Dodge City Community College in Kansas announced his decision on Twitter.
"I would love to take the Time to say thank you for all the coaches that took there time and effort in recruiting me but I would gladly say that, after prayer and road running I am Committed THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE," Henry wrote.

Henry led Dodge City with 110 tackles, including 13 for loss, as a freshman in 2017.
The 6-foot-1, 230-pound Henry, who previously played at Vidalia High School in Georgia, is Tennessee's eighth known verbal commitment for 2019 and the first linebacker in the class. He is the nation's top-rated junior college inside linebacker in the 2019 class, according to 247Sports.com.
Verbal commitments are nonbinding, and Henry's first opportunity to sign a national letter of intent will come in December.
