Morning gang.

We are on the panhandle trying to find the ultimate sand castle and a few Co-Colas and avoid sun burns. Good times.

So that means we'll have a 5-at-10 everyday this week - hey, it's what we do - but they will be top-five lists with the occasional Rushmore mixed in. Deal? Deal.

From the satellite condo of the "Talks too much" studios, a day spent watching the Blue Angels is a day well spent?

Brady's bunch

Tom Brady by all accounts was very genuine and direct and charismatic in his appeal Tuesday in a 10-hour proceeding at the NFL offices. Here's the story.

Will it change the league's and Roger Goodell's view that Brady's involvement in Deflategate merits a four-game suspension?

It's hard to think the league will lower the number unless Brady reveals the cell phone records and text messages between the two stooges who had direct contact to the footballs.

So there's that.

Either way, it's fair to not expect a verdict for a while, since Greg Hardy's appeal was heard May 28 and we're still awaiting a ruling.

High Hundred

Chris Sims said last week that he "may" have received a few $100 handshakes during his time at Texas.

Here's the story, which begs this question: What's the statute of limitations on something like this?

Because at what point can these kids come out and tell their story and not worry about backlash against the school? Will Texas be in trouble for Simms coming clean?

photo Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton (1) heads to the turf after leaving the pocket against the Atlanta Falcons during their game, Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, in Atlanta.

Who knows, but if there's a certain time period after which the stories carry no NCAA ramifications, count us among the folks who want to hear the behind the scenes of:

a) The Cam Newton story

b) Nick Saban's/John Calipari's recruiting acumen

c) The untold background of the Fab Five

d) The real stories of what happened at The U - with pictures of course.

Color coordinated

We asked this earlier in the week, and now two days before the NBA Draft - we love the draft, you know this - Wisconsin standout Sam Dekker takes it a step up the ladder.

Dekker asks why white players get compared to white players, and its true. In fact, it's a common truth that far too often is the accepted narrative a variety of sports realms, whether its white basketball players/wide receivers or black quarterbacks.

In fact, that simply needs to no longer be part of the vernacular. Calvin Johnson is not a "possession" receiver? Who's a better "possession" receiver than him?

Russell Wilson has to be viewed as an "atheltic" quarterback.

Can Dekker or Gordon Heyward or Goran Dragic any other similarly hued NBA player be a good athlete with out the obligatory prepositional attachment of "for a white guy" at the end?

Alas.

KFC cleared

photo FILE - In this July 31, 2014 photo, a woman looks at a menu with words "everyday half-price" in front of a KFC fast food restaurant in Beijing, China. Restaurant operator KFC said Monday, June 1, 2015, it filed a lawsuit against three companies in China whose social media accounts spread false claims about its food, including that its chickens have eight legs. The case filed by China's biggest restaurant operator comes as the government intensifies a campaign to clean up rumors on social media. (AP Photo/Andy Wong, File)

How did we miss this?

Apparently a KFC customer accused the chain of deep-frying, then serving a rat. GUH-Ross.

Well, KFC went all CSI and ran DNA tests on the rodent PDQ.

They found it was chicken that just looks like a fried rat.

And yes, this is could mean the Mrs. 5-at-10 will never darken the door at a KFC ever again if she learns this tale. Or tail as the case might have been.
