Who golfs? TVA intern Tony Lansden

Tony Lansden has plans for a vacation at Gulf Shores, Ala., with his future in-laws.

The last thing somebody told him was "Be sure to bring your clubs," Lansden said.

They didn't mention anything about him needing to bring his wallet, because they're sure to get into it.

"We'll play for plates - lunch, dinner, and I'm sure I'll end up buying," the 23-year-old said. "But I won't be working, I'll be on vacation, and that's a good thing."

Lansden's Nike clubs have been in hibernation for about nine or 10 months, he estimated. They reappeared Monday at Wilcox Driving Range and again Tuesday at Moccasin Bend, where he practiced with fiancee Deana Ayers.

"My game is horrendous," he said while noting he has a new goal of breaking 90 for the first time.

Lansden had a slow introduction to the game. He carried his uncle's bag a few times a year. Then he worked his way into the game and began playing about twice a week before putting his clubs in a closet.

"I hit it OK yesterday," Lansden said. "I guess I forgot all the things I need to correct."
