The rain washed out at least two rounds, maybe three rounds, of golf for Corey Ortwein during the holiday weekend.

So he took his game indoors Sunday.

"I'm in here looking around and just shopping," Ortwein said while inside GolfSmith. "I'm a member at Battlefield and I play twice a week, but not this week.

"The hard thing is that if you buy a club, you want to go and try it out."

Ortwein is gearing up his game for an annual golf trip with a group of about 22 golfers, most of whom are connected with Parkway Baptist Church.

They're headed to Crossville to play four courses in four days.

"They've gone to Myrtle Beach in the past, but Crossville is the only trip I've been on," Ortwein said. "Crossville is nice because the courses are good and it's close.

"I'm looking forward to playing golf with a bunch of friends."

Ortwein began playing golf with his father about 15 years ago.

"I love being able to be out on the course a lot and play," he said. "It's a game that's stuck with me."
