Judy Noyes is back loving the game she grew up playing.

It's been a few years for Noyes, who grew up walking alongside her father, Sarge Johnson, at what's known now as Cane Creek in Alabama.

"I grew up at that place when it was Fort McClellan," Noyes said. "My dad was a 29-year Army veteran, and I grew up there and at Stoney Brook."

Noyes played golf through her childhood days. She treasured the moments with her father on the course.

She never completely quit the game. Just took a few long breaks. She found herself with other outdoor activites and spending time being a mother instead of a golfer.

"I was being a mom, I played tennis, hiked a lot and did a lot of swimming," said Noyes, who helped spray a bucket of balls on the range at Moccasin Bend on Monday.

She's back playing the game after nearly two years away from it for various family reasons. She'd gone from the summer of 2012 until February of this year without picking up a club.

"It's awesome being back," she said. "It's like going back to school. It's great exercise and a good mental break.

"Anybody who's had a bad day should just go hit a bucket of balls -- it's a great stress relief."
