UTC's Emily McLennan shares lead in State Women's Open

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga senior golfer Emily McLennan shares the lead after the first round of the 2015 Tennessee Women's Open Championship at the Stonehenge Golf Course near Crossville.

McLennan and professional Karlin Beck of Pike Road, Ala., shot even-par 72s on Thursday, one stroke better than Ashleigh Whisenant of Collierville, Tenn. Logan Chaney from Scottsboro, Ala., is in a seven-way tie for fourth at 74, and former Baylor School teammates Blakesly Warren and Lauren Johnson share 11th place at 75.

Lee University's Sam Burrus is tied for 16th at 76, and Sarah Dolmovich from UTC and Signal Mountain is in the group at 78 with Jenna Burris from Manchester. Hollee Sadler from Manchester shot 79.

The 81-player field will be cut to the low 60 and ties after today's round. The tournament concludes Saturday.
