Area aces

George Caudle had a hole-in-one on No. 3 at Black Creek Club on June 7. He used an 8-iron for the 138-yard ace witnessed by Randy Roberts, Gerry Siciliano and Tom Knight.

Lee Green made a hole-in-one June 10 at Council Fire Golf Club. He aced No. 4 from 174 yards with a 6-iron. Paul Apyan, Tim Crawford, Todd Moreland and Michael Wright were his witnesses.

Cindy Cornette scored her first hole-in-one May 31 at Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. She aced No. 13 with a 7-iron from 110 yards. Her husband Earl witnessed the shot, as did Mike and Ellen Dye.

Scott's date set

Cleveland Country Club member Maggie Scott will be inducted into the Tennessee Golf Hall of Fame on June 23 following the second round of stroke play in the state women's amateur at Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. She will be inducted along with author Gene Pearce.

Drive, Chip & Putt set to go

The local qualifier for the national Drive, Chip & Putt championship -the finals for the nationwide junior skills competition are at Augusta National Golf Club the Sunday before the Masters begins - is scheduled for June 27 at the First Tee of Chattanooga practice facility. The competition is open to ages 9-15, the entry deadline is June 22 and potential participants can contact Dori Paschall at DPaschall@TnGolf.org to learn more or register.

Men's Metro is Open

Applications for the Chattanooga Men's Metro Amateur Championship are available at IfYouLikeGolf.com. The entry fee for the three-day tournament (for the low 25 and ties) on July 10-12 at Canyon Ridge Golf Club is $90 until June 29 and increases after that date; carts are extra. The tournament is open to all male amateur golfers of dues-paying Chattanooga District Golf Association courses who live in a 30-mile radius of a CDGA club.
