Rafael Ynoa of the Chattanooga LookoutsPEARL, Miss. -- Rafael Ynoa's third hit of the game led to Chattanooga's third run Monday night, and that 10th-inning score gave the Lookouts a 3-2 Southern League baseball win over the Mississippi Braves.
Ynoa, who went 3-for-5, singled to right field with one out in the top of the 10th and came around on another single to right by Nick Russ and a sacrifice fly by Kyle Russell for the tiebreaking run. Steve Ames then recorded his 10th save of the season to preserve the good work of starting pitcher Ethan Martin and Chris Withrow (1-1, 5.07 ERA).
Ynoa and Buss led off the game with singles, and both scored for a quick 2-0 lead. Martin took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, when Jason Christian led off with a single to center and wound up scoring on Christian Bethancourt's single past shortstop. The Braves tied it at 2 in the seventh when Ian Gac doubled to center and scored on Philip Gosselin's sacrifice fly to center.
The finale of the four-game series is tonight at 8 EDT. Matt Magill (7-4, 4.08) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, with David Hale (6-4, 4.06) listed for the Braves.
Magill was named Monday as Southern League pitcher of the week after throwing six scoreless innings in his only appearance last week against Pensacola. He has won the award three times this year and leads the league with 101 strikeouts.
