Cleveland's Blue Raiders win Florida wrestling event

Cleveland High School won the Osceola, Fla., wrestling invitational over the weekend, rallying past the host team with an overtime win in the final match. Heavyweight Koran Kennedy nailed down the victory, giving the Blue Raiders the team title by two points. Also winning an individual title was Aaron Lopez (160). Cleveland runners-up were Chris Debien (113) and Ethan West (182). Cleveland is ranked second in the latest Tennessee coaches' poll.

Basketball

• The Southern Polytechnic State women's basketball team improved to 11-0 Monday with its second victory of the season against Bryan College, this one 65-56 in Dayton, Tenn. Sarah Ogoke had 26 points, 11 rebounds and three steals for the Marietta school, while Ashlie Billingslea scored 19 points and Arnissa Galloway had 11 rebounds with 11 points. Morgan Burnette had 16 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots for Bryan (6-5), while Abigail Pippenger scored 13 points and Keila Formont contributed seven assists and 10 rebounds and Kelsey Brooks had five assists with nine points.
