Signal Mountain junior Harrison Moon has football offers

Signal Mountain's Harrison Moon, a rising junior, has his first two official college football offers, Eagles coach Bill Price said Monday. The 6-foot-5, 255-pound tight end received an offer from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga earlier in the day and then got a Vanderbilt offer, which was given to Price on Moon's behalf, Monday evening. Moon was at camp at Alabama on Monday and is scheduled to be at a camp at LSU today.

Softball

• Former Girls Preparatory School standout Jackie Baird represented East Tennessee State on the Atlantic Sun academic all-conference softball team for 2013. In addition to compiling a 3.75 cumulative grade point average, the junior exercise science major and third baseman started all 47 games for the Buccaneers this season and led them in total bases (62), RBIs (25), doubles (9), home runs (5), slugging percentage (.443) and on-base percentage (.348). She was the A-Sun player of the week in mid-February.
