Sophomore wide receiver Justin Houston from Bradley Central High School was one of four Tusculum College players to make the Hansen Football Gazette All-Super Region Two team for 2013. Houston was a second-team choice after setting Pioneers single-season records with 110 receptions, 1,347 receiving yards and 1,914 all-purpose yards. He had another school record with 317 all-purpose yards in one game, and his 11 catches per game led the South Atlantic Conference and were the second best in NCAA Division II. Tusculum quarterback Bo Cordell and tight end Wesley Powell made the Hansen all-region first team, as did Carson-Newman's trio of offensive tackle Alex Taylor, linebacker Jaycob Coleman and cornerback Eien Jacob. Linebacker Brian Alexander was the Pioneers' other second-teamer, joined by Carson-Newman running back Brandon Baker, kicker Curt Duncan and defensive end Javaris Neal.

• Times Free Press sports editor Jay Greeson and longtime college football writer David Paschall, now doubling up as the co-hosts of the "Press Row" afternoon drive-time show on ESPN Radio The Zone (105.1 FM), will be the guest speakers for the Chattanooga Quarterback Club's noon luncheon meeting Monday at Finley Stadium. Among other things, the two Auburn graduates will be sharing insights about Monday night's BCS championship game matching Auburn against Florida State. Attendance costs $10 with a meal, $4 without, and the public is invited.
